Chemical Treatment Plant:
Except a few, all the timber products need the chemical preservative treatment. SWC has a number of huge treatment plants where preservative treatment is given to all sawn timber through vacuum and/or pressure treatment under the supervision of senior chemists. This makes the timber resistant against the attack of fungus, borers, etc.
Seasoning Plant:
Sumitra Woodcraft follows specialized ISE charted seasoning program, which is developed after years of experience in the group. At SWC, kiln seasoning treatment begins after the preservative treatment, and the moisture content is lowered down by evaporating all the free water present in the timber, leaving behind only the bound moisture content between 8 to 12%.
Machine Shop:
The factory has automatic machines for all the functions for best processing of raw material to deliver better end products. Following machine shops are used in production:
Rip Saw - For edge plaining.
Double Surface Plainer - For plaining and smoothing top & bottom surface of wood.
Tenoner & Mortiser - For making perfect joints in furniture making.
Pneumatic Clamp Carrier - For jointing of solid wood planks with 100 % accuracy.
Wide Belt Sender - Gives an excellent smooth finish.
Sliding Panel Saw - For superb smoothness and precision cutting.
Auto Copy Shaper - It is a fast, precise controlled shaping machine; an obvious backbone of SWC.
Modern Spindle Molder - Performs powerful shaping operations with precise measurement.
Continuous Dovetailer - Making of dovetails joints.
Oscillating Belt Sender - To give a perfect finish on edges, rims & contour surfaces.
Horizontal & Vertical Sponge Sanders - Sanding all chair components.
Quality Control & Checking System
SWC has trained technicians, skilled workers and experts' wood-working engineers who look after minute checking and undertake various tests at different levels. Right from chemical treatment, seasoning, cutting, shaping, sanding till finishing line the product is well checked. SWC quality system makes it an international standard production hub for furniture making.
Packaging & Dispatch Section:
Smooth handling and packing backed-up with pneumatic control logistic system helps in fast dispatches with safety and care.
